In this presentation, I compare the Open Archival Information System (OAIS), the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) Lifecycle, and the Digital Preservation Outreach and Education (DPOE) modules, in order to determine the areas in which we need to develop best practices. I then provide an overview of where we stand in each area, and what still needs to be done. Finally, I examine what we and those around us are going through in facing the challenges of digital preservation, and how best we can connect and support one another in facing these challenges.
